Rich Vleck, DUNDEE, NY, (June 16, 2013)- Wet grounds and a forecast calling for consistent rainfall have forced the cancellation of the first Father’s Day Special event at Black Rock Speedway, but that does not mean that you can not take your Father to a special race this month.
Because losing this Sunday’s event to rain, Black Rock Speedway will now host an event next Sunday, June 23, featuring almost every weekly BRS class with many of them running special big-money events.
The special Sunday showcase will feature at 50 lap race for both the sportsman and the street stocks. The sportsman will be running for $1,000 to win and $100 to start while the street stocks are running for $750 to win and a whopping $150 to start the 24-car feature field. The major street stock purse booth has been made possible in large part by Greg’s Auto Body of Horseheads, NY.
The IMCA Modifieds will also be a major part of this special day, running their first IMCA Empire State Series race in Dundee this season. Unfortunately, the rescheduled date is not conducive for the BRP CanAm Late Model Series and so that division will not be competing on Sunday.
All three of the 4-cylinder divisions will also be running full-point events, with the RWD and FWD Adult classes running for a $200 top prize and $40 to start.
Pit gates will swing open at Noon while racing gets underway at 3:00 P.M. Keep in mind and spread the word that $5 off general admission coupons are available around Yates County as well as on www.BlackRockSpeedway.com.
