The Race of Champions Street Stock Series will pay a visit to Black Rock Speedway on Wednesday, July 11th as part of the “RoC at the Rock”.  They will join the Race of Champions Dirt Modified Series on the venue along with the Front Wheel Driver Four Cylinders.  Race time is 7:00 p.m.

Black Rock regular Bob Buono is the defending Race of Champions Street Stock Series Champion and will look to show the invaders the quick way around the 4/10th mile clay oval.  Buono is the current Black Rock point leader with Chris Fisher, Larry Fenton, Jr., Dylan Cecce and Jeremy Perkins rounding out the top five.
The Race of Champions Street Stock standings find Rich Green, Earl Zimmer, Brenton Miller, Jonathon Carpenter, Gene Sharpsteen and Nick Robinson locked in a torrid battle for the title.  Expect a strong mix of track regulars and RoC invaders as they battle for the $500 top prize in the 25 lap event.
Rules for the Black Rock Race of Champions Street Stock event will be the same as they were in 2011 on the series.  With those rules in place, it will enable drivers from Black Rock, Woodhull, Skyline, Five Mile Point, Penn Can, I-88, Thunder Mountain and Dunn Hill 2 to compete on an equal playing field.  In last year’s season ending Empire 100 Street Stock race at Black Rock under these same rules it was Green holding off Buono at the wire to pick up the big win.  By combining the track and RoC Series rules for this event the race will be settled on the track with equal cars, as it was in last year’s season ender.
The winner of the RoC Street Stock Series race will also garner a coveted guaranteed starting spot in the $2,000 to win Empire Street Stock 100 in October at Black Rock.  Last year’s race found 66 Street Stocks in competition so grabbing a guaranteed starting spot will be nice to fall back on in an attempt to make the big show.  Plus the 100 lap race pays $200 to take the green so the winner of the RoC Street Stock race on July 11th will be assured of at least $200 in October.
The Race of Champions Street Stock Series will join the “RoC at the Rock” Race of Champions Modifieds and the Front Wheel Drive Four Cylinders at Black Rock Speedway.  The race will take place on Wednesday, July11th at 7:00 p.m.  Black Rock Speedway is located in Dundee, New York, just eight miles from Watkins Glen.  For further information contact Dan Harpell at DLH Promotions at 607-595-4100 or email us at dharpmotorsports@yahoo.com.
