SuperGen Products/Champion Power Equipment Present Patriot Sprint Tour At Black Rock Speedway

DUNDEE, N.Y. – For Immediate Release – May 12th, 2015

The most coveted ticket in dirt track racing these days is the ticket that gets you in to see Dirt Modifieds and any type of Sprint Car.  Several tracks will offer such a ticket in the coming days and Black Rock Speedway is one of them as they prepare for the Patriot Sprint Tour’s first of two stops in Dundee for the 2015 season. The week’s action is being presented by SuperGen Products/Champion Power Equipment located in Newark, NY.

SuperGen/Champion are also the proud sponsors of the speedway’s new Victory Lane which was first used this past Friday night in the infield.  A new concrete pad and victory lane signage was added signifying the importance of winning at ‘The Rock’.  Paul Cole and his staff are tremendous supporters of local motorsports and they sell the best in generators, power inverters, power washers and much more to help you get your next project done right.

‘Flyin’ Bryan’ Howland of Auburn, NY was the winner of the last PST event held at the ‘Fast Four-Tenths-Mile’ oval last August after leading all 25 laps.  In fact, Howland took the victory last Saturday night at neighboring Woodhull Raceway where he passed young shoe Robbie Stillwaggon with two laps remaining.

The driver of the #51 is also coming off a third place run on May 2nd at Canandaigua Motorsports Park which has Howland sitting atop the PST American Series points standings.  With drivers like Shawn Donath, Chuck Hebing, Sammy Reakes IV, Jeff Cook and Steve Collins nipping at his heels- Howland will have his work cut out for him on Friday night.

‘The Hurricane’ finally got back on track this past Friday night with a convincing win over fellow dirt modified star Alan Johnson.  Paine tied his Canandaigua win total as he now has 91 wins at both Black Rock and ‘The Land of Legends’.  The Waterloo, NY pilot went from 19th in points to a three-way tie for 11th with Johnson and Brady Fultz.

Chris Fisher took home first place points after a post-race tech DQ last Friday night but has shown the speed necessary to pull down his first win of 2015.  Another competitor that has been hot recently is Horseheads, NY’s Chris Silvers.  Silvers has accumulated three Top 10s and two Top 5s in three starts and has been knocking on the door for career victory #2 at ‘The Rock’.

Jason Benjamin picked up his first win of 2015 last week in the M&M Auto Sales & Service IMCA Modifieds after working Harry Ely over in slower traffic.  Ely will look to get a little revenge this week in what will be the final tune up before the Empire State Series event taking place Friday May 22nd.  Point leaders Rich Karlnoski and Keith Lamphere have been stuck to each other like glue in 2015 as they currently sit tied for the lead.

Nate Daggett broke out for his first win of 2015 last week in the Morseman Racing Chassis Street Stocks and will look to keep the momentum up during Friday’s busy night of action.  Gene Balmer and LaVerne Knickerbocker have been standing at the gates of victory lane recently, only to see victory slip away late in the going.  This week could be their week to win and make up ground on point leader Jared Hill.

Scott Bradley used the bad luck of Rich Sharpsteen last week to elevate himself into the NAPA Know How 4 Cylinder points lead.  Bradley, the 2014 track champion, has used consistent finishes as his formula for success in what he hopes will be two-in-a-row this season.  Jeremy Trank and Rick Horton put on a great battle last week, with Trank coming out on top.  Look for the action to heat up this week in front of a big crowd.

Jeff Daugherty’s competition hasn’t yet found his kryptonite in 2015 in the Creekside Entertainment Bandits but last week Billy Bowers came oh so close.  Bowers led laps 1 and 2 last week which are the only laps not to be led by Daugherty this season, but would lose the lead on lap 3.  Bowers and Pixie Kinner will try their best to tame ‘The Rock’ this week and break Daugherty’s perfecto.
